Maza is an Iranian-Kiwi actress who is also a prolific writer and director. She has just completed her Master of Creative Writing at AUT. Maza enjoyed playing the role of ‘Fatima’ in the second season of Raised by Refugees. Additionally, she skillfully portrayed the challenges of an immigrant mother facing a tragic crime against her daughter in Maryam, a short film that she wrote and starred in. Her NZ Film Commission-funded short film, Daughter of God, has recently been selected by Nikki Caro as a finalist for the best film category at the upcoming 2023 NZ International Film Festival. Maza’s diverse life experiences as a well-traveled and multilingual mother of two have deepened her fascination with understanding human psychology, positively influencing her artistic endeavours.
