Dulcie Smart is a New Zealand-born actress who has been based in Berlin for many years. She began her career as a stage actress in Wellington, playing lead roles in Shakespeare and Chekhov as well as in contemporary drama by e.g. David Hare, Caryl Churchill, Louis Nowra and Lanford Wilson. She moved to Germany in 1991. Dulcie Smart has played a broad range of roles in film and TV productions working with directors including the Wachowskis, Tom Tykwer, Margarethe von Trotta and Mike Newell for companies based in New Zealand, Germany, the UK and Canada. She appears as herself in the documentary Krzysztof Kieslowski: A Masterclass for Young Directors. Dulcie Smart is one of Germany's top English-language voice actors.
